Want to know more? Check out the FAQ Q: Is this alkaline water? A: Electrolyzed Reduced Water (ERW) is not regular Alkaline Water, it is alkalized. Alkaline water is made through a chemical process which involves placing sodium bicarbonate into reverse osmosis water so it registers alkaline on the PH scale. Q: What does it filter out/is it a filter? A: This is classified as a water ionizer. The filter that comes with the K8 filters out chlorine. And through the ionization process is able to filter out 80% of the fluoride that is present. Q: Does this filter fluoride? A: This machine is able to filter out 80% of the fluoride that is present within the water. Fluoride is an acidic chemical and is positive in nature through the ionization process the positive and negative ions are split and this chemical is filtered out through the acidic waste tube that comes out of the bottom hose on this machine.
